Bombay HC rejects Rane’s plea
Mumbai : The Bombay High Court on Tuesday rejected the plea of Union minister Narayan Rane, hours after he sought the quashing of all FIRs filed against his controversial remarks against Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
While nixing the plea, the court urged Rane to follow due procedure.
The order came after the Nashik Police arrested the minister from Ratnagiri.
On this issue, Rane’s lawyer said, “Sections for which he has been charged fetch less than seven years sentence.
A notice should have been served by the police before detaining his client.”
Earlier, Mr Rane had approached the Sessions Court in Ratnagiri with an anticipatory bail but got no relief.
