Three Passengers Die, 20 Injured In Accident At Raigad Dist
Kolhapur/Raigad, May 8: Three passengers, including a woman, were killed on the spot while 20 were injured in a private bus accident, which occurred early Sunday morning in Ghonse ghat section in Mhasla tehsil of Raigad district.
According to Mhasla police, a private bus, which was on way to Shreevardhan from Thane, fell into about 60 feet george in Ghonse Ghat section in Mhasla tehsil of Raigad district early Sunday morning following bus driver losing control on the wheel at a sharp turn.
In this incident three people were killed on the spot while more than 20 passengers, were injured, who were admitted to Mhasla rural hospital while some serious injured passengers were admitted at Mangaon-Ghareshiwadi hospital. Police identified deceased as Ashwini Shailesh Birwadkar, Madhukar Birwadkar and Sushant Rikame.
Meanwhile district guardian minister Aditi Tatkare visited hospitals where injured passengers were admitted, to enquire about their health. Police said the number of deaths was likely to go up as rescue operation was continuing.
