44 Teams In Fray At 52nd All India YSCA Trophy
Chennai, Apr 29: Perhaps in the entire country, the TNCA approved YSCA All India Cricket Tournament was being held without any break for 51 years. And the 52nd edition of the All India Young Stars Cricket Association (YSCA) is all set to begin on the traditional day of May 1, Organising Secretary M.S.Gurumurthy, who has been successfully hosting it for the last 51 years continuously, said in a media release here today.
A total of 44 teams, including holders SRMIST, Freyer International logistics, Income-Tax RC, Central Excise, IOB, AGORC and many lower division teams are participating.
Three outstation teams will also be part of the fixtures. The prominent colleges that will be seen in action included Loyola, GuruNanak, RKM Vivekananda and others.
This is the only Tournament where the lower division teams, colleges, schools and institutional teams play with leading first division teams.
Every match carries a player of the Match, Best Batsman and Best Bowler awards. Stating that he was looking for sponsors to run the tournament, Gurumurthy said the tournament will be played under knock-out format up to quarterfinals.
The top four teams in the top half and the four teams in the bottom half will play in the Super League, followed by the semifinals. The final will be held at the historic Chepauk M.A.Chidambaram Stadium on June 20. Gurumurthy said Live web coverage of all matches will be done by CricketSocial.com.
