Goa: BJP To Stake Claim To Form Govt Tomorrow
Panaji, March 20: Almost 10 days after announcement of results, Bharatiya Janata Party in Goa will stake claim to form government tomorrow.
“We will approach the Governor and stake claim to form government after the legislature party meeting tomorrow,” BJP Goa unit President Sadanand Shet Tanavade said, addressing a press conference in the city on Sunday.
He said swearing-in of the new government will be held at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium near the city. The ceremony will be attended by central ministers. Even Prime Minister may come, he said.
To a question, he said independent MLAs were in touch with the state leadership while Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) is talking to the central leadership of the party. Tanavade said Congress should not worry about BJP but think about itself. He said as BJP is a national party decisions are taken by central leaders.
