Counting Of Votes Begins In Goa
Panaji, March 10 : Counting of votes polled for assembly elections in Goa began here on Thursday and was progressing smoothly. According to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Kunal, the counting for all 40 Assembly Constituencies in Goa started with counting of postal ballots and for EVM’s it will start at 0830 hours. While counting of 19 constituencies are being held at Government Polytechnic College, Altinho, in Panaji, counting of 21 constituencies has been taken up at Comba, Margao, in South Goa. There are 301 candidates from different political parties fighting for 40 seats in the legislative assembly. Before the counting, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant offered prayers at a temple in Sankhali. ”Offered prayers at Shree Datta Mandir in Sankhali,” the Chief Minister tweeted. According to Election Commission officials, the results would be out by 1100 hrs.
