Bengaluru : Senior BJP leaders Dharmendra Pradhan and G Kishan Reddy have been appointed as the observers by the party’s parliamentary board to complete the process of selecting the chief ministerial candidate at the BJP Legislature Party Meeting to be held today evening.
“The central parliamentary board has appointed Dharmendra Pradhan ji and G Kishan Reddy ji as party observers. They will participate in the BJPLP meeting where the selection of the (BJPLP) leader will be made,” Arun Singh, BJP in-charge for Karnataka, told reporters at the party office here.
Soon after Singh arrived at the Kempegowda International Airport, he said the selection of the new chief minister will be made at the BJPLP meeting in consultation with the outgoing chief minister BS Yediyurappa.
“Respected Yediyurappa has given resignation. In the last two years, Yediyurappa has done extremely good work. He has worked for all communities and in all areas. He has had a very long experience in the political field and party affairs.
The party will always benefit from his experience and seek his guidance. The selection of the chief minister-designate will be selected in the BJPLP meeting as per the parliamentary board direction,” he said.
Singh was accompanied by State BJP President Nalin Kumar Kateel. “The final decision on the appointment of the new chief minister will be taken by the national leaders,” he said.
Earlier senior BJP leader Ganesh Karnik stated the BJPLP Meeting convened at 7 pm at the city’s Hotel Capitol.
The BJPLP will discuss the names of the probables and decide on the chief minister-designate.
