Moscow Deems IT Giants Behavior Unacceptable: Foreign Ministry
Moscow, March 1: Moscow considers the behavior of such IT giants as Google and Meta unacceptable, Oleg Gavrilov, deputy director of the information and press department of the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday, accusing them of “hostile propaganda activities”.
“Special attention should be paid to the absolutely unacceptable behavior of foreign, primarily the ones based in the US, IT giants such as Google and Meta. Hostile propaganda activities are openly conducted on their social platforms, Russian sources of information are blocked, and massive restrictions on access to domestic media are carried out,” Gavrilov told the Russian parliament.
According to the diplomat, under such circumstances, the development of a system for bringing “instigators of war against Russia” to justice would be an important contribution to strengthening the country’s security.
“At the same time, it should be taken into account that it is hardly worth counting on constructive interaction with us from those who systematically carried out this harmful activity in Ukraine all these years,” Gavrilov said.
