Dead Student Spoke To Family Before Beath
Bengaluru, March 1: A Karnataka student who was killed in Ukraine spoke to his family hours before he got killed, apparently in Russian shelling, his grieving father said on Tuesday.
Shekhar Gowda revealed this to the media after Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai spoke to him over telephone to express condolences over the death of student Naveen Gyanagoudar in Ukraine. Choking with grief, Shekar Gowda said he spoken with his son only in the morning over telephone. The young man used to telephone his family twice or thrice every day. Bommai said he was with the family in this hour of grief.
“It is a big blow. May the Almighty bestow eternal peace on Naveen.” Efforts are on to bring the mortal remains of Naveen to India, Bommai said. Naveen was killed in Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine.
