Kaillie Wins Inaugural Monobob Gold
Beijing, Feb 14: Kaillie Humphries of the US on Sunday won the gold in the inaugural women’s monobob event in the Beijing Winter Olympics.
Humphries clocked a winning time of 4:19:27 over four runs to take the gold. Elana Meyers Taylor (4:20:81) won the silver and Canada’s Christine de Bruin (4:21:03) settled for a bronze.
Monobob competition is an individual event for female athletes included for the first time in the Winter Olympics. Earlier, there was only two-woman competition. The men already have two events: four-man and two-man.
