Houthi Drone Attack On Saudi Airport Injures 12
Riyadh, Feb 10: A total of 12 people were injured in a drone attack by Yemen’s Houthi militia targeting Saudi Arabia’s Abha International Airport, the Saudi-led coalition fighting a war in Yemen said on Thursday.
The drone was intercepted but the shrapnel injured civilian travelers and airport staff, according to a tweet by the state-run Saudi Press Agency.
The Abha airport lies close to the Yemeni border in Saudi Arabia’s south. The Houthi militia has launched multiple drone and missile attacks against Saudi border areas with Yemen and other places in retaliation for the kingdom’s intensified airstrikes on its facilities in Yemen.
The coalition said most of the attacks had been foiled before reaching their targets. The Saudi-led war in support of Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi against the Houthi rebels is poised to enter its seventh year next month.
