Istanbul, Feb 9: Indian wrestlers Bajrang Punia and Ravi Dahiya will be making a return after hiatus at the prestigious Yasar Dogu Ranking Series event, starting February 24 in Istanbul. The four-time ranking series gold medalist Vinesh Phogat and the 2019 World Championships silver medallist Deepak Punia will also be in action.
Yasar Dogu will be the first of four ranking series events of the year where wrestlers will look to accumulate seeding points for the World Championships. Bajrang will be competing in 65kg weight category in which he claimed bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Ravi, who has clinched silver at the Olympics in 57kg division, will fight in 61kg category instead of 57kg. The ranking series in Istanbul will be Bajrang and Ravi’s first competitive event since their successful campaign at the Tokyo Olympics.
