Channi Govt Plundered Punjab: BJP
Phagwara (Punjab), Feb 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday accused Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi of plundering Punjab and said it was confident of winning Assembly elections in the state. Talking to reporters here, BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh said the reopening of the Kartarpur Sahib corridor, convicting those who took part in the 1984 riots and abolition of GST from ‘langars’ in gurdwaras were among the main decisions taken by the Modi government. Chugh said the Channi government had in just 111 days looted Punjab. He said the BJP’s stature was “very high” in Punjab.
He said the people were fed up with Congress leader Navjot Sidhu too. He accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of trying to mislead the people. Many BJP leaders, including Union Minister of State Som Prakash, were present when Chugh spoke. But none of the leaders from the Punjab Lok Congress and SAD (Sanyukt) were present.
