Lok Sabha Pays Tributes To Lata Mangeshkar

New Delhi, Feb 7:Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Monday paid tributes to Lata Mangeshkar. Remembering the legendary singer, Speaker said the Bharat Ratna awardee had sung over 25000 songs in different Indian languages.

He also recalled that Lata Mangeshkar had sung ‘Saare Jahan Se Achcha’ in the Central Hall of Parliament on the Golden Jubilee of India’s independence. He said her death has caused an irrevocable loss to art and culture.

Speaker also expressed condolences for two former members who passed away, Gajanan D Babar who was member of 15th Lok Sabha and C Janga Reddy who was a member of 8th Lok Sabha. The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 5 pm after obituary references.
