Patna, Feb 6: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Sunday announced that all schools, colleges, coaching institutes and religious places will resume from Monday onwards after a marked improvement in the Corona pandemic scenario in the state.
Chief Minister Kumar, after a high-level meeting of Crisis Management Group (CMG), held to review the situation, tweeted that in view of vast improvement in the Corona pandemic scenario, the decision had been taken by the state government to open all schools, colleges, coaching institutes and religious places from Monday.
Schools would open with fifty per cent attendance of students up to class eight while higher classes would have cent per cent attendance, he added. Kumar said that a hundred per cent attendance of students would also be permitted in all colleges, universities, coaching institutes and other educational institutions. All government offices would have normal working duration with a hundred per cent attendance, he said, adding that only those having fully vaccinated would be allowed to enter offices.
Chief Minister said that all shops, business establishments, shopping malls and religious places would remain open as per their normal schedule. All parks and zoos would, however, be allowed to remain open only from 6 AM to 2 PM. Cinema halls, clubs, swimming pools, gymnasiums and restaurants would be permitted to open with fifty per cent capacities, he added.
Kumar said that all sorts of social, political, entertainment, cultural and religious functions could be organised after getting prior permission from the district administration. Marriage functions, funerals and last rituals could be held with maximum participation of two hundred people, he informed.
Chief Minister appealed to all for strictly adhering to guidelines of Covid appropriate behaviour. Masks should be used and social distance should also be maintained to avoid any chance of spreading Corona infections, he cautioned.
All schools, colleges and universities were closed till February 6 due to increase in Corona positive cases. Only examinations were being conducted by various boards. Shops were being opened till 8 PM. All religious places,parks, zoos and gymnasiums were also closed while Night curfew was effective from 10PM to 5 AM.
