New Delhi Feb 4: Opposition MPs including DMK, Congress and AITC staged a walkout from Rajya Sabha over the NEET issue. The protesting MPs came to the well when Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu rejected the notice to suspend business and discuss the NEET issue.
“Don’t do injustice to other members, let others speak,” Naidu said seeking cooperation from protesting MPs to conduct Zero Hour. DMK’s Tiruchi Siva and others were protesting Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi’s decision to return the NEET Exemption Bill and demanded that he immediately recalls the decision.
DMK MPs said that the actions of the state Governor were against the will of the people in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge extended support to DMK and told Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu to allow them to speak. Naidu repeatedly asked the protesting MPs to go back to their seats and let others continue with their Zero Hour submissions. When the Chairman didn’t allow them, DMK, Congress and AITC MPs staged a walkout with slogans against Tamil Nadu Governor.
