New Delhi, Feb 4: The first dose of Covid-19 vaccine has been administered to 65 per cent of the nation’s adolescent population between 15 and 18 years. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted on Friday a month after the inoculation exercise was launched.
“The historic effort of Young India continues… under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the world’s largest vaccination campaign is creating new records,” he said. Covid-19 vaccination for the 15 to 18 age group began on January 3. Adolescents are being given the Covaxin produced by Indian company Bharat Biotech. The total population in the age group is 7.5 crore.
