Puducherry, Feb 2: Former Chief Minister and Senior Congress leader V Narayanasamy termed the Union budget 2022-23, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday, as a “Magic “ budget.
In a statement here on Wednesday, Mr Narayanasamy said there is nothing for common man in the budget and it is only meant for Corporates. Employees of Government and Public Sector Undertakings expected an increase in the income tax slabs. But nothing happened and the Rs 2.5 lakh basic exemption limit in a financial year still remain.
Digital finance transaction is welcomed, but imposition of 30 percent tax on Cryptocurrency is not acceptable, he said. The former Chief Minister also said that market borrowing of Rs 14.95 lakh crore for next fiscal will lead to inflation and price rise resulting in financial crisis in the country
