Lucknow, Jan 22 : With the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections gaining momentum, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is confident that besides majority community and backwards it will get massive support of the minorities, specially Muslims as well.
In an exclusive interview with the UNI, UP’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Muarya said, “Like booths of other communities, this time the lotus will also bloom on the Muslim booths and the people will witness it happening.”He claimed that safety is equally important for the Hindu families as well as for the Muslim families.
“Our five years rule is a certificate in itself. You go to western UP and ask Muslim women and they say that they will vote for the BJP. Why? They clearly say that they feel safe and secure now. Safety is a major issue not only for Hindu families, it’s an issue for Muslim families as well,” he said.
He said earlier a perception was created that the BJP is anti-backward and anti-Dalits. “A wall was erected so that neither the backwards and Dalit can see the BJP nor the party can see them. But under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that wall has been demolished. That barrier will never come up again in the future,” he said.
The DyCM said in times to come the planned strategy formulated by the forces, who are anti-BJP, to keep the people away from the BJP will get exposed. “In the times to come we can say that like forwards, backwards and scheduled castes, who have blessed the party, lotus will also bloom on Muslim booths this time. Result of western UP will be surprising. We will get more votes as compared to 2017,” he said.”Hindu-Muslim is not an issue at all. The mantra of our leadership, our Prime Minister is ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.
In that poor are alike, farmers are alike and daughters are alike. Either Hindu or Muslim, there is no difference for us,” he said.On BJP-bashing by the opposition parties, Maurya claimed that they lack issues on which they can contest elections. “Electricity, roads and water are no longer issues. They (opposition parties) are hunting for the issues, but their issues get lost among the rioters, criminals and the corrupt. Therefore I feel that whether its Samajwadi Party (SP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) or Congress or smaller parties, with whom they have allied with, will meet the same fate as that of 2014, 2017 and 2019 in 2022,” he added.”
All I can say is that whatever has happened between 2017 and 2022 is just a trailer. The real picture it can be named as development, it can be named as welfare of the poor, it can be named as upliftment of farmers, it can be named as respect and safety of women or riots and a mafia free state is our target. Only BJP can do this, because the history of SP, BSP and Congress had been that of corruption, hooliganism, anarchy and casteism, he said.
Maurya claimed that the impact of the ‘double engine’ government is being felt by the people and it’s an achievement for the BJP. “You go to the house of a poor person, a farmer or a worker, earlier they used to live in huts, now they have pucca houses. They are getting all the basic facilities which they require,” he said.
