Nalanda, Jan 15: At least five people have died after consuming hooch in Bihar’s Nalanda, police said on Saturday.
The incident pertains to Talli Mohalla of Sohsarai police station area of Nalanda district. Three people died in Manpur, while two others died in Chotti Pahari area, the police said
Police said that several other people who also consumed the hooch are currently undergoing treatment at various hospitals. The condition of three of them is said to be critical, police said.
Witnesses told the police that people after consuming the liquor started feeling unwell. They were all rushed to the hospital where some of them died.
Senior police officials along with the local police have reached the area and have begun their investigations.
