Low pressure area likely to form over Bay of Bengal, Meteorological Department issues alert for 20 districts

 

 

Bhubaneswar, October 21: Odisha may face another natural challenge in the next few days, as a low pressure area is likely to form over Bay of Bengal, leading to heavy rainfall in many parts of the state.

According to the information released by the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is likely to form over Bay of Bengal from today. This low pressure area may develop into a depression and a severe depression, which may affect Odisha.

Keeping this in mind, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for 20 districts of the state. Rain is expected to continue for the next week.

The State Meteorological Department has advised everyone to be alert, avoid unnecessary travel and follow the instructions of the local administration and the Meteorological Department.
