Nuapada, October 15 : Moving swiftly ahead of its rivals, the Congress has intensified its preparations for the Nuapada by-election. It was the first party to announce its candidate, Ghasiram Majhi, at a time when both BJD and BJP were still deliberating over their choices.
According to sources, Ghasiram Majhi will file one set of nomination papers today through his agent, as the day is considered auspicious. The complete nomination process is scheduled to be carried out on October 18 in a formal manner.
Meanwhile, the Congress has already kicked off an campaign across the Nuapada constituency, aiming to consolidate its position ahead of the poll.
All three major parties BJP, BJD, and Congress are now fully engaged in campaign strategies and ground-level mobilization. The BJP has already named Jay Dholakia as its official candidate, who is expected to file his nomination on October 16.
