Former Cricketer Ambapratapsinh Jadeja No More, Succumbs To Covid-19
Rajkot, Jan 4: Former Saurashtra cricketer Ambapratapsinh Jadeja died of Covid-19 on Tuesday, the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) announced.
Jadeja, who was 69, passed away early morning after battling against the virus. Hailing from Jamnagar, he played eight Ranji Trophy matches for Saurashtra.
In a statement, Saurashtra Cricket Association said, “Everyone at Saurashtra Cricket Association are deeply sadden on sad demise of Saurashtra’s yesteryears’ Cricketer Late Ambapratapsinh Jadeja.”
“He was 69 years old. He passed away today early morning at Valsad fighting hard battle against Covid-19. He was prominent right hand medium pacer and right hand batsman.
“He played 8 Ranji Trophy matches representing Saurashtra. He was from Jamnagar. He was Retd DSP, Gujarat Police.”
Niranjan Shah, former BCCI Secretary, condoled the demise of Jadeja.
“Ambapratapsinh was remarkable player and I have interacted good cricketing moments with him. May his noble soul rests in shelter of the Almighty,” said Shah in SCA statement.
