Mystery Surrounds Trump’s Meeting with Pakistani PM and Army Chief at the White House

Washington, D.C, Sept 26 : In a development that has sparked speculation and raised diplomatic eyebrows, former U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir at the Oval Office in Washington, D.C. However, the meeting has stirred controversy due to the complete absence of any official photos or video footage released by the White House an unusual break from standard protocol.

Typically, the White House publicly shares photographs or live streams of presidential meetings with foreign dignitaries to maintain transparency and diplomatic decorum. For instance, during previous high-profile visits, such as with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the event was not only photographed but followed by a joint press briefing. In stark contrast, the only confirmation of this recent Trump-Sharif-Munir meeting came through Pakistan’s official government social media accounts.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad, the meeting was held in a “cordial and cooperative environment.” It also claimed that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio were present during the discussions. Moreover, the Pakistani side asserted that the meeting was deliberately kept closed to the press, and that there was a delay of nearly 30 minutes in the signing of an executive directive by Trump during the encounter.

Adding to the mystery, members of the White House press pool reported spotting Sharif and Munir waiting inside the White House until the conclusion of Trump’s scheduled program. Yet, no press release, image, or on-the-record statement emerged from the American side, fueling speculation about the nature, timing, and intent behind the meeting.

The lack of transparency surrounding the visit particularly given the stature of the individuals involved has led to questions from analysts and observers about the diplomatic implications and whether the meeting was part of a broader, undisclosed negotiation. Until the U.S. side acknowledges or clarifies the details, the event remains shrouded in ambiguity.
