Bhubaneswar, Sept 22 : Today is the fifth day of the fourth session of the 17th Assembly.
However, this session is not resolving the important issues of the state.
Only verbal attacks are going on through ruckus, posters, placards and naysayers.
The previous two days, where the main issue was to be discussed, it was adjourned due to ruckus. Today too, it has been repeated.
The opposition parties, Congress and BJD, have jointly protested against the reduction in the power of the panchayat leadership.
The Congress showed posters of ‘BJD-BJP Bhai Bhai’ and raised slogans.
As a result, the Assembly lasted for only 7 minutes.
The Speaker has adjourned the House till 4 pm.
Then, the necessary issues could not be discussed during the Question and Answer Period, which was a matter of deep concern.
Then, this situation in the Legislative Assembly sends a negative message to the new MLAs who joined the House for the first time on democracy and House discussions.
Despite seeing a similar situation in the last monsoon session, the House was running smoothly.
Then the question arises, will it be a one-sided meeting this time too? Or will the House be completely paralyzed?
Is the Speaker incapable of maintaining order in the House?
Or is there some political plan behind this?
Does the government really not want to solve the problems of the people?
Then the Legislative Assembly is a forum for solving the problems of the common man.
If this forum is adjourned amidst chaos and uproar, what will be the future of democracy?
Then what will the people’s representatives do? Will the voice of the common man be shaped or driven by the strategy of party self-interest? That is the question that has been raised by the common man…
