Bad news came amid PAK vs SA test series, team got a big blow, star player out
Pakistan cricket team is on tour to South Africa and a 2-match test series is being played. After suffering a crushing defeat in the first Test, when the Pakistan team took the field to face South Africa in the second Test, it got a big shock on the very first day. The second Test match between Pakistan and South Africa started on 3 January at Newlands, Cape Town. South Africa won the toss and decided to bat first. On the very first day of this test match, Pakistan suffered a big blow when Pakistan’s opening batsman Sam Ayub got injured while fielding. Sam Ayub suffered an ankle injury. Due to this injury, Sam Ayub has to be ruled out of the Newlands Test.
PCB issued statement
There has been no official update yet regarding the injury of 22 year old Sam Ayub, but it is certain that his injury is serious. This is the reason why he is out of the second test match. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in its statement that Sam Ayub twisted his right ankle while fielding, due to which he will not be able to play further in the second Test against South Africa. Sam had an X-ray and MRI this afternoon. His report has been sent to a specialist in London for further advice regarding further treatment and staying away from competitive cricket.

During the 7th over of South Africa team’s first innings, when Sam Ayub dived to stop the ball from Abbas, his ankle got twisted and he started writhing in pain on the field itself. Immediately after this, seeing Ayub in pain, the Pakistani team physio ran towards him and tried to make him stand but he could not succeed in it and after this Ayub was taken out of the field with the help of a stretcher. He was sent directly to the hospital for scanning.
