U19 Women World Cup 2025: Indian team announced for the World Cup, this player was made the captain
The squad of the Indian women’s team has been announced for the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025 to be played in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this, Nikki Prasad has got the responsibility of captaincy. Sanika Chalke has been made the vice-captain. Most of the players who were involved in the Under-19 Asia Cup for India have got a chance in the team. Indian women’s team won the Under-19 Asia Cup title by defeating Bangladesh.
There are two wicketkeepers in the Indian team
The Indian team for the Under-19 Women’s World Cup 2025 has two wicketkeepers in the form of Kamalini G and Bhavika Ahire, while three standby players Nandana S, Ira J and Anadi T have also been included in the squad. Kamalini had given a strong performance for the Indian team in the Under-19 Asia Cup 2024 and won the match against Pakistan on her own. G Trisha, who scored 52 runs in the final against Bangladesh, has also got a place.
Indian women’s team is in Group A
A total of 16 teams will participate in the Under-19 Women’s World Cup 2025, which have been divided into four groups. India are the defending champions and have been placed in Group A along with hosts Malaysia, West Indies and Sri Lanka. India will start its campaign against West Indies on January 19. After that he will play matches against Malaysia (January 21) and Sri Lanka (January 23).
The final match will be held on 2 February
The group stage matches will be played between January 19 and 23. The top three teams from each group will make it to the Super Six to be held between January 25 and 29. There will be two groups of six teams each in Super Six. The top two teams from each group in the Super Six will make it to the semi-finals which will be played on January 31. The final will be held on February 2.
