WI vs BAN T20I Series: Bangladesh team ended the year 2024 on a great note by winning the last match of the three-match T20 series against West Indies by 80 runs and also succeeded in making a clean sweep. In the last match of the series played at St. Vicente, Bangladesh team scored 189 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs, in which Zaker Ali’s unbeaten inning of 72 runs in 41 balls was seen. While chasing this target, the host West Indies team kept losing its wickets at regular intervals due to which the entire team was reduced to a score of 109 runs in 16.4 overs.
West Indies faced clean sweep at home after 5 years
West Indies team’s dominance is seen in the T20 format, in which almost all the players included in their team are no less than match winners, but despite this, they had to face a clean sweep in this three-match series. The Windies team has got a clean sweep in a series in T20 International at home after five years. Bangladesh team has also managed to clean sweep the T20 series against any of the top-8 teams for the first time in its cricket history. Earlier in the year 2011, there was only one match T20 series between the two teams, which Bangladesh team was successful in winning. After this, in the year 2018, Bangladesh won the three-match T0 series against West Indies by 2-1.

In the last match of this T20 series, while Zaker Ali’s magic was seen with the bat in the victory of Bangladesh team, in bowling, leg spinner Rishad Hussain was successful in showing the magic of his spin. Zaker played an excellent unbeaten half-century in this match in which he scored a total of 25 runs in the last innings of Bangladesh team, due to which the score could reach 189 runs. Talking about bowling, leg spinner Rishad Hussain took three wickets while giving only 21 runs in his 4 overs, while Taskin and Mehdi also managed to take 2 wickets each. This was also the last series of Bangladesh team in the year 2024.
