Rohit Sharma can reach the top in ODI rankings, chance to overtake Babar Azam
Pakistan team is currently on the tour of South Africa. Where after the three-match T20 series, an ODI series of the same number of matches is being played between the two teams. In the first match of this series, former Pakistan captain and star batsman Babar Azam has once again failed. Babar Azam again left Pakistan midway in this match. He has been yearning to score runs for a long time. Fans expect big innings from Babar Azam, but time and again he is not able to live up to the expectations of the fans. Babar Azam scored only 23 runs in 38 balls in the first match and was dismissed by Otniel Bartman.
Could not score half century in so many innings
Every day his fans compare Babar Azam with batsmen like Virat Kohli or Steve Smith. But Babar Azam is not able to even follow in the footsteps of these great batsmen, let alone match them. Babar Azam has not scored a single half-century in international cricket in the last 21 innings. This is a shameful thing for them. Babar Azam is failing in every important match and his team is expecting big innings from him. When Babar left the captaincy of the team, it was expected that he would return to form, but there does not seem to be any improvement in his batting.
There may be loss in ODI ranking
Babar Azam is currently at the first position in the ICC ODI rankings. He is ranked at this position with 800 rating points. If Babar Azam’s performance remains similarly poor in the remaining two matches of the ODI series being played against South Africa, then he will lose his first position in the ODI rankings. If this happens then Team India captain Rohit Sharma can come first in the ODI rankings. Let us tell you that Rohit Sharma is currently at second place in ICC ODI rankings. Rohit Sharma has never reached the first position in the ODI rankings. This could be a historic moment for them.
