What to do for skin in winter?

Our skin becomes very dry during winter season. Due to low temperature and dry winds, the skin starts becoming flaky and the problem of dryness increases. In such a situation, to moisturize the face, people use such things in the form of home remedies which keep the skin moist. But, let us tell you that before using anything in the cold season, one should do research about it. Actually, use of some things beneficial for the skin in this season can be harmful. So, let us know which things should not be used on the skin in winter.

Do not use these things on your skin in winter:

  • Oil Based Cream: Oil based creams are beneficial for dry skin. But people with oily and normal skin tone should not use them at all during cold weather. Excessive oily products cause clogged pores which causes acne.

  • Multani Mitti and Sandalwood Powder: Multani mitti and sandalwood powder are considered very beneficial for the skin. Their use makes the face glow but their use in winter can increase dryness of the face.

  • Mineral Oil and Petroleum Gel: The use of mineral oil and petroleum gel on the face acts as a barrier. In such a situation, their use makes the skin even more dry and the pores get clogged.

  • Potato Juice: Although potato juice is effective in removing dark circles, it should not be used on the face during the winter season. Because it absorbs moisture from the skin and makes the face even more rough and dry.

  • Alcohol Based Toner: Alcohol based toner also absorbs natural oil from the skin and makes the skin dry. In such a situation, people with sensitive and dry skin should not use it even by mistake.
