Till now only 4 Indians have been able to score Test centuries on the Gaba grounds, such a feat has not happened in 10 years

India vs Australia 2nd Test: The third match of Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia will be played at Gaba ground from December 14. The series is currently tied at 1-1. The Indian team won the first match by 295 runs. After this, Australia made a strong comeback and defeated Team India by 10 wickets in the second test. Now all eyes are on the Gabba Test match, where Team India created history by winning the Test match in the year 2021. So far, only these four Indian batsmen, ML Jaisimha, Sunil Gavaskar, Sourav Ganguly and Murali Vijay, have been able to score a Test century on the Gabba ground.
ML Jaisimha scored his first century in Gabba
The first Test century by India on the Gaba ground was scored in the year 1968. Then ML Jaisimha had played an inning of 101 runs. But Team India had failed to register victory. After this, in the year 1977, Sunil Gavaskar played an inning of 113 runs against Australia on this ground. Then the Indian team lost the match by 16 runs.
Murali Vijay played an inning of 144 runs
In the year 2003, Sourav Ganguly played an inning of 144 runs against Australia at Gabba. This test match was drawn. Then in the year 2014, Murali Vijay played an inning of 144 runs on this ground. But even then Team India was not victorious. All four Indian players who scored centuries on the Gabba ground have retired. After 2014, no Indian batsman has been able to score a Test century on the Gabba ground.
Pant had led Team India to victory
The Indian team has so far played a total of 7 Test matches against Australia at the Gabba ground, out of which it has won only one match. Team India has lost in five matches. One match has been a draw. The one test match which Team India won on the Gaba ground in the year 2021. In that, Rishabh Pant proved to be the biggest hero by playing an inning of 89 runs and it was because of him that Team India was successful in winning the match.

- Murali Vijay-171 runs
- Ajinkya Rahane- 152 runs
- Sourav Ganguly- 144 runs
- Cheteshwar Pujara- 142 runs
