A strange incident was seen on the cricket field when the entire match was canceled due to the captain not arriving at the right time for the toss. Actually, this was seen in the West Indies in which the captain of Jamaica Scorpions team, who had reached the final match of their home ODI tournament, John Campbell did not reach the toss on time and due to this the referee decided to cancel the match. Cricket West Indies has banned John Campbell for four matches considering his actions as indiscipline. After realizing his mistake, Campbell later apologized.

My action was to protest against the match officials

John Campbell later apologized to everyone for not arriving on time for the toss and said that on my behalf I apologize to all of you for any disruption in the final match. I accept that my actions may be seen as a protest against the decision of the match officials. However, it was not my intention at all that my action be seen as undermining their rights or bringing this game into disrepute. I fully understand and will continue to understand the importance of decisions regarding the rights and dignity of the game. Let us tell you that due to rain in this match, the umpires had decided to make it 20-20 overs, due to which the captains of both the teams were not happy and both of them did not come, after which Campbell accepted his mistake. Because of this, there is no winner or runner-up for 2024-25.
