Nagaland Botched Up Op: Army Probe Team Visits Site
New Delhi, Dec 29: The Indian Army inquiry team constituted to investigate the botched up operation killing innocent civilians visited the site at Oting village in Nagaland’s Mon district on Wednesday.
The inquiry team, headed by a Major General, inspected the site to understand the circumstances in which the incident could have happened, a statement issued this evening as reported by UNI said.
“The team also took along the witnesses for better understanding of the situation and how events would have unfolded. Subsequently, the team was also present at Tizit Police station in the district this afternoon to meet the cross section of the society including civilians, police personnel and doctors who treated injured for obtaining valuable information pertaining to the incident,” the statement reads.
Earlier, Indian Army had requested through public notices to directly share any information related to the unfortunate incident either by being present before the inquiry team or by sending any input, photo or video related to the incident on specific numbers alloted for the purpose.
The Indian Army had on Sunday said that its probe into the incident was progressing expeditiously and all efforts were being made to conclude the inquiry at the earliest.
The Indian Army had regretted the loss of lives during incident saying the loss of lives was indeed sad and unfortunate. It has assured the people of “action in accordance with the law to secure justice for all.”
