Team India dominates the WTC points table again, Australia suffers huge loss

ICC World Test Championship Points Table: What happened in Perth was recorded in history. Team India registered its biggest win on Australian soil by 295 runs on the fourth day of the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played at the Optus Stadium in Perth and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Chasing India’s target of 534 runs, Australia collapsed for 238 runs in 58.4 overs in front of the sharp bowling of Bumrah (three wickets) and Mohammed Siraj (three wickets). In this way, Team India made the record of the biggest win in terms of runs on Australian soil and the second biggest win outside Asia. India had earlier defeated Australia by 222 runs in Melbourne in December 1977. India’s biggest win outside Asia was by 318 runs against West Indies in North Sound in August 2019.

Big change in WTC Points Table

Due to this spectacular victory of India, a big change has been seen in the points table of the World Test Championship i.e. WTC. After losing the Test series at home to New Zealand, Team India lost the top position in the points table. Australia had captured the top position in place of India. But now Team India has again established its dominance in the points table by defeating Australia in its own home.

Team India again reached the top

Before this series, the Australian team was on top in the points table of the World Test Championship with 62.50 PCT, but now after the defeat in Perth, it has fallen to the second position. Australia has suffered huge loss in PCT and now its PCT is 57.69. On the other hand, Team India has benefited a lot from the spectacular victory. Before the Perth Test, Team India’s PCT was 58.30, which has now increased to 61.11 after the win. Also, Team India has again captured the top in the WTC points table.

In the WTC points table, Sri Lankan team is at third place with 55.56 PCT. New Zealand team is at fourth position. The PCT of Kiwi team is currently 54.55. South Africa’s PCT is slightly lower than New Zealand and is ranked 5th. The England team is present at the location.
