Big update regarding Champions Trophy 2025, now this matter can be decided by voting
Champions Trophy 2025 is to be organized on Pakistani soil, but BCCI has refused to send the team to Pakistan. India can play in the Champions Trophy only then. When it is conducted on hybrid model or the entire tournament is shifted to some other country. But Pakistan Cricket Board has completely rejected the hybrid model. The PCB rejected reports that its officials will hold a virtual meeting with their ICC and BCCI counterparts on November 26 to resolve the uncertainty over the Champions Trophy. The announcement of the tournament schedule is getting delayed after BCCI expressed its inability to send the Indian team to Pakistan for the tournament.
PCB denied the meeting took place
A reliable source in the PCB told PTI that we have not received any information from the ICC about any meeting between us, BCCI and the ICC. He also said that the PCB has not yet received any response from the ICC on the email it sent to the ICC asking for reasons for the reluctance to send the Indian team to the neighboring country. However, an ICC source clarified that an internal meeting could be held on Tuesday to find a solution to this complex issue.
Voting may take place for Champions Trophy
He revealed that this is a virtual meeting of the executive board members to resolve the issue of Champions Trophy scheduling once and for all. This meeting has been called because the broadcasters of the program are putting a lot of pressure on the ICC to finalize the programme. There is a possibility that there could be a vote on what to do and whether the event should be held in Pakistan, shifted to it or the ‘hybrid model’ suggested by the BCCI should be adopted in which India will host its matches in the UAE. I will play.
The official admitted that this time the PCB has also taken a tough stance and is not ready to back down from its stand of hosting the Champions Trophy in Pakistan as they have no problem in hosting any team. The source said that the PCB has also made it clear that even if the ‘hybrid model’ is adopted, it will not play its group match against India in Dubai. He said that the Executive Board has suggested keeping Pakistan and India in separate pools but the broadcasters are not ready to accept it due to lack of revenue.
