Jajpur: Former Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das (Bobby) has reacted to the attack on Dharmashala MLA Himanshu Shekhar Sahoo. He said, ‘No kind of violence will be tolerated in a democracy, I condemn the incident. However, I was not at the scene of the incident, the road was blocked due to the Birja project. The MLA was passing by, I heard the argument.’
When asked if Bobby’s brother attacked the MLA, he responded and said, ‘I told my brother to go and sit in the police station, if he is guilty, action will be taken.’
According to the incident, Himanshu has alleged that a supporter of former Jajpur MLA Pranab Prakash Das (Bobby) attacked him. The attack is said to have taken place near Jajpur Budhapole.
Himanshu has complained regarding the incident. He said that on Wednesday I was going to the office to attend a meeting with the DDM. At that time, some people blocked the road on the road. My vehicle was stopped there as the road was blocked, when some people rushed towards me. They had rods and sticks.
They then beat up my vehicle. Then, seeing me in the vehicle, they rushed towards me. They all beat me up and took my chain. While attacking, they shouted slogans like ‘Bobby Bhai Zindabad’.
