PTI had earlier reported that Shami’s inclusion in the Bengal T20 squad is part of a thorough assessment of his fitness, paving the way for his return to Team India.

Strong performance for Bengal

After recovering from an ankle injury, Mohammed Shami, returning to the competitive match after a gap of a year, performed impressively for Bengal in the Ranji match against Madhya Pradesh and took seven wickets to give his team the first win of the season.
