Mega auction is to be organized for IPL 2025. This time a total of 574 players have registered for this. This time the mega auction is going to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. For which a player has also registered who made India win the Under 19 World Cup title in the year 2012. But the special thing in the registration of this player is that he has registered as a foreign player. This player is none other than Unmukt Chand. Let us know why he has done this.

Have been part of IPL before too

Unmukt Chand won the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup for the Indian team as captain in 2012. They defeated the Australian team in the final. Apart from this, in the final he led India to victory by scoring unbeaten 111 runs in 130 balls. He was also the player of the match in the final. Unmukt Chand was born in Delhi. He also played for Delhi Daredevils in IPL. Unmukt Chand was a part of Delhi team in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013. He moved to Rajasthan Royals in 2014. He played for Mumbai Indians in the 2015 season. He last played in IPL in 2016.

Unmukt Chand has shifted to America

Things suddenly did not go well for the rising star of Indian cricket Unmukt Chand and he failed to make a big name in Indian cricket. After this, after being disappointed, he announced his retirement from Indian cricket in August 2021 and shifted to America to give a good start to his career again. Since then he has been playing cricket in America only.

Actually, Chand has retired from all formats of Indian cricket and now plays for America, hence he has been registered as a foreign player in the IPL 2025 auction. It is noteworthy that Chand is one of the three foreign players from associate countries. His USA teammate Ali Khan and Scotland’s Brandon McMullen are the other two. A total of 208 foreigners have registered for this mega auction.
