Bengaluru, Dec 28: Sheer incident of negligence during mid-day meal cooking, at least 80 students of a government school in Karnataka fell ill after consuming the MDM with a dead lizard found. The incident took place in Venkatpura Tanda village in Haveri district of Karnataka.
The sick students were been admitted to a government hospital in Ranibennur town. School authorities said students have been discharged from the hospital and are doing fine.
Meanwhile, authorities have been directed to take action against the school for negligence in the preparation of mid-day meal. Similar incidents of negligence in mid-day meal served to the students have been reported from different parts of the country. Earlier in Tamil Nadu, where kindergarten students of a Govt. run school served with rotten eggs as part of mid-day meal.
