Know What’s The Vedict Of The Odisha HC On 30% Reservation In Data Entry Job  

Cuttack: The High Court of Odisha has dismissed the petition for 30% reservation and regularization of employment for computer programmers or data entry operators.

The High Court bench comprising Chief Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh and Justice Savitri Ratho, while giving its verdict on the case, held that the petitioner is not a registered association, hence, it has no legal standing to file the petition.

The bench said in its verdict that any person aggrieved can approach the court for justice. According to the details of the case, data entry operators are working in 314 blocks of the state. Out of which, more than 70% of the employees are directly employed, while more than 30% of the employees are employed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) under the employment rules.

The All Odisha Additional Computer Programmers Association approached the High Court demanding a change in the said rules, reservation of 30% of the employees and regularization of the jobs of additional computer programmers.
