CM Majhi Directed To Provide Three Months Of PDS Rice In Advance

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi reviewed the Public Distribution System at Lok Seva Bhavan today and directed the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department to provide three months of rice advance to the beneficiaries. As per the Chief Minister’s instructions, each beneficiary will get 15 kg of rice for three months (October to December). Although this process started from October 1, 40 lakh families have not received rice yet. Therefore, the Chief Minister has directed to distribute rice to these families immediately.

According to the meeting, the state government is taking steps to include all the workers registered under e-Shramik in the Public Distribution System. Out of the 1 crore 30 lakh workers registered under e-Shramik, almost all have been included, while 1 lakh 31 thousand workers are left. The Chief Minister has directed to include them in the State Food Security Scheme immediately.

The meeting also discussed the One Nation One Ration System. The Chief Minister suggested expediting the e-KYC system for Odia people residing in other states. The meeting was attended by Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Minister Krishna Chandra Patra, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunj Bihari Dhal, and Principal Secretary, Food Supply and Consumer Welfare Department Veer Bikram Yadav.
