After losing to Pakistan, the Indian team also lost to UAE, its dream of reaching the quarter finals was shattered.

Indian team

Team India, which started its campaign with a defeat in the Hong Kong Sixes Tournament, had to face defeat in its second match as well. The Indian team had to face defeat by 1 run against United Arab Emirates i.e. UAE in its second match of Pool C. In this way Team India’s dream of reaching the quarter-finals was shattered. Batting first, UAE scored 130 runs. In response, the Indian team could score only 129 runs after losing 4 wickets in 6 overs. In this way India had to face back to back defeats in the tournament.

For UAE, Khalid Shah played the highest innings of 42 runs with the help of 6 sixes in 10 balls. Whereas, Zahoor Khan scored 37 runs on 11 balls. Stuart Binny took maximum 3 wickets for India. The best performance for India was done by Stuart Binny, who apart from taking 3 wickets, played an inning of 44 runs in 11 balls. Captain Robin Uthappa scored 43 runs in 10 balls, hitting 3 fours and 5 sixes. India needed 3 runs on the last ball but Stuart Binny was run out and the team lost the match by 1 run. The Indian team will now face England in the second bowl match.

Lost to Pakistan in the first match

Earlier, Team India had suffered a crushing defeat against Pakistan in its very first match. The Indian team had to face defeat by 6 wickets against arch-rival Pakistan in its first match of the Hong Kong Sixes Cricket Tournament on 1 November due to poor performance of the bowlers. Bharat Chipli retired hurt and before returning to the pavilion, played a stormy innings of 53 runs in 16 balls, which helped India score 119 runs in the stipulated 6 overs. Indian captain Robin Uthappa also contributed 31 runs on 8 balls. But Indian bowlers could not perform well. Pakistan’s batsmen maintained their dominance from the beginning and achieved the target of 120 runs in just one over.
