New Delhi, Dec 27: Amid concerns of the Brahmin community steering away from the BJP in the poll bound Uttar Pradesh, the party has constituted a four member committee to formulate its strategy for Brahmin outreach.
BJP President JP Nadda on Monday met prominent Brahmin leaders from the state, which included MPs Shiv Pratap Shukla, Mahesh Sharma, Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Ministers in the state government Brajesh Pathak, Shrikant Sharma, Anand Swaroop Shukla, Satish Dwivedi, Satyadev Pachauri, Ramapati Ram Tripathi, Jitin Prasada, and former state president Laxmikant Bajpai and Anil Sharma.
Union Minister and UP’s election incharge Dharmendra Pradhan was also present at the meeting.
The committee will be chaired by Shukla, and other members include Abhijit Mishra, Shiv Pratap Shukla, and Mahesh Sharma.
Party leaders said the party wants to address “resentment” among the Brahmin community before the polls.
Informing about the discussions held during the meeting, former Union Minister and member of the committee Mahesh Sharma told reporters, “BJP is going to make the government again in UP and discussions were held on strengthening the campaign. A strategy is being worked out for all 403 assembly seats in UP for which massive planning is being done, which will be brought on the ground.”
Prior to this, Brahmin leaders had met UP election in charge Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday.
