Gop: The incident of theft of mid-day rice from the Gop area of Puri district came to light on Saturday. A teacher was caught with 2 packets of mid-day lunch rice. The teacher is said to be from Maktab Primary School in Gop.
According to the information received, the teacher came out of the school gate with 2 bags of lunch rice. At that time, some villagers stopped the teacher and confiscated the rice. On the other hand, the teacher said that she was giving out the rice through the ward members.
In her defence she said that she is taking out the rice due to the fear of insects because it is a puja holiday.
