Bhubaneswar: Good news for ration card holders. Now beneficiaries will have wheat along with rice. Wheat is available in 9 states including Odisha. A letter has come from Central Food and Public Distribution. This new law will come into effect from October.
On the other hand, the Odisha government has recently informed the ration card beneficiaries that wheat, which was previously available in the ration card, will be available again along with rice. The government asked for 20 percent of the available rice to be wheat. The BJD government banned wheat and supplied only rice to the ration card holders. Now according to the new information rice and wheat will be provided to the beneficiaries as before.
