Chennai, Dec 24: Floral tributes were paid to AIADMK Founder and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Bharat Ratna M. G. Ramachandran, popularly called as MGR, on the occasion of his 34th death anniversary here today.
Former Chief Ministers O. Panneerselvam and Edappadi K. Palaniswami, who are the party’s Coordinator and joint Coordinator respectively, paid floral tributes at the memorial of MGR on the Marina beach front. Accompanied by senior party leaders, MPs, MLAs, district Secretaries
and functionaries, they placed a wreath at the MGR memorial to mark the occasion.
Later, Mr. Panneerselvam administered a pledge to the party members to strive hard for the party’s victory in the upcoming urban local body elections and defeat the ruling DMK. Elsewhere in the state, AIADMK cadres paid floral tributes to a portrait of MGR.
