Schools In Ganjam, Koraput & Malkangiri Dists Have Been Declared Closed

Odisha: All schools in Koraput district are closed today due to heavy rains. After issuing a red warning from the IMD, the District Collector has declared holiday. School holidays have also been announced in Ganjam and Malkangiri today.

While it is raining in different parts of the state, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning about thunder and heavy rain for 3 hours on Tuesday. An orange alert has been issued by the meteorological department on 6 July. All those districts were Balangir, Nuapada, Bargarh, Sundergarh, Sambalpur and Jharsuguda.

On the other hand, due to low pressure, there has been heavy rain in various parts of the state including South Odisha for the last two to three days. Some areas of Koraput and Malkangiri have been affected due to rain.

However, there is no flood situation in the state. Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) gave this information after a meeting to review the possible flood situation on Monday.
