The Search Dog Storm Has Traveled To Wayanad For The Rescue Operation: Berhampur SP

Berhampur: Storm, the search dog of Berhampur police, has traveled to the currently sensitive spot of the country, to assist in the rescue operation after the landslide disaster in Wayanad, Kerala. Besides that, 4 officers have also gone there, said Berhampur SP Sarthak Sarangi. They are going there by rail, SP said.

Even six days after the landslide, search for life under the soil and rocks is still going on in Wayanad. Rescue operation is underway. And the death toll is rising. While the death toll has crossed 350, hundreds of people are still missing. It is feared that the death toll will increase further.

Various agencies including the Army, NDRF and volunteers are continuing rescue operations on a war-time basis. Search operation is also underway with Deep Search Radar. 

This radar can search for trapped humans up to a depth of 80 meters from the surface. Airlift is being carried out from the remote areas by special helicopters of the Air Force. More than 1300 people are involved in the rescue operation in the affected area.

Charulmala, Mundakai and Poonchuri Matam in Wayanad have been hit by landslides. All these places have become ruins. Mundakai village near Meppadi Hills is the worst affected by the landslide. Similarly, in Punchuri Matam, many houses have been built into the soil.
