Bhubaneswar, Dec 31 : The Malda Town-Bengaluru Amrit Bharat Express was given a grand welcome at various Railway stations in Odisha on Sunday.
The train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.
The train was received with much fanfare amidst the rhythmic drum beats and traditional dance at Jaleswar, Balasore Soro , Bhadrak, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road and Brahmapur Railway stations.
Political leaders, social workers, students and teachers welcomed the maiden run of indigenously built Amrit Bharat express at various railway stations.
While at Bhadrak and Cuttack Stations, MP Manjulata Mandal, former MLA Muktikant Mandal, Social worker Sisir Kumar Mishra and another Social Worker Manasmita Khuntia graced the occasion.
Passenger Amenities Committee Member Dillip Mallik and Social Worker Lalatendu Badu welcomed the train.
At Bhubaneswar, Aparajita Sarangi, Sulata Deo and Muzibulla Khan all MPs welcomed the train .
ECoR General Manager Manoj Sharma and Divisional Railway Manager H. S. Bajwa were also present at the Bhubaneswar Railway station.
Similarly, at Khurda Road Railway Station, Suresh Kumar Routray MLA and Social Worker Rashmi Ranjan Mahapatra graced the occasion.
Apart from this, Chandrasekhar Sahoo (MP) and Bikram Panda MLA took part in the programme and welcomed the train at Brahmapur Railway Station.
