Odisha records 4 degree celsius: Cold wave sweeps across Odisha, G Udayagiri records lowest

Bhubaneswar, Dec 21 : There will be no respite from the intense cold wave condition sweeping across Odisha in the next 24 hours, IMD Bhubaneswar head H R Biswas said on Thursday.
IMD sources said several places, mostly the western and southern Odisha districts, reported the mercury plummeting below 10 degree Celsius.
However, the minimum temperature is very likely to rise by 2-3 Degree Celsius in the subsequent two to three days.
In the plain areas, Phulbani reported the lowest temperature of 6.5 degree Celsius followed by Angul 8 degree Celsius, Rourkela( 8.3) ,Keonjhar(8.4) and Sundargarh(8.6).
In the hill station in the state, G Udayagiri recorded the lowest temperature of 4 degree Celsius followed by Similiguda (5.7) Phulbani (Kandhamal) 6.5 Degree Celsius , Kirei (Sundargarh) 6.6 Degree Celsius and Koraput 7.6 Degree Celsius.
Biswas said dry weather will prevail in most parts of Odisha and there will be no significant changes in the minimum temperature in the next 24 hours.
The IMD has predicted dense fog in several districts of Odisha for the next two days.
The visibility may drop below 200 metre at one or two places over the districts of Odisha due to dense fog from December 22 to December 24.
There will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours.
The minimum temperature IMD sources said plummeted below 10 Degree Celsius in as many as 16 places in Odisha on Wednesday night. The coastal districts in the state the minimum temperature recorded is between 9 to 12 degree Celsius.
The State Capital of Bhubaneswar recorded 12.4 degree Celsius on Wednesday night which is 2.5 degree Celsius less than the normal temperature.
