Israeli military says struck at Hamas facilities in Gaza strip

Jerusalem, Dec 3 : The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Sunday it had struck at infrastructure and weapons storage facilities of Palestinian group Hamas in the Gaza Strip, eliminating five fighters of the movement.
“IDF continues operations against Hamas terror targets, operatives and weaponry. Overnight, IAF [Israeli air force] fighter jets and helicopters struck terror targets in the Gaza Strip, including terror tunnel shafts, command centers and weapons storage facilities. Furthermore, with the direction of IDF ground troops, an IDF UAV [unmanned aerial vehicle] targeted and eliminated five Hamas terrorists,” the IDF said on Telegram.
The Israeli naval troops also struck at Hamas targets over the past 24 hours, the statement read.
On October 7, Hamas launched a large-scale rocket attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip and breached the border.
Israel launched retaliatory strikes and ordered a complete blockade of Gaza, cutting off supplies of water, food, and fuel.
On October 27, Israel launched a ground incursion into the Gaza Strip with the declared goal of eliminating Hamas fighters and rescuing the hostages.
Last week, Qatar mediated a deal between Israel and Hamas on a temporary truce and the exchange of some of the prisoners and hostages, as well as the delivery of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip.
The truce was extended several times, but on Friday the Israeli military resumed fighting against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, saying the group had violated the humanitarian pause by opening fire on Israeli territory.
